Opportunities @ Hope
-
We actively encourage applications to read for a PhD on a parapsychology-related topic.
-
We will be posting opportunities to volunteer in our research projects as and when they begin.
-
We also welcome volunteers to act as student research assistants for our on-going projects.
Call for PK experiences
We are currently hoping to hear from people who have experienced anomalous mind over matter effects or psychokinesis. This is where the mind or body apparently exerts a physical effect on the environment without the use of the normal perceptual system. Examples of this kind of effect are where emotions seem to relate to electronic equipment breaking down (e.g., a computer crashes if you are stressed), intention affecting some aspect of the physical world (e.g., affecting the roll of dice, spoon bending, psychic healing), clocks stopping, etc. We are also interested in anomalous physical effects occurring around the time of death of loved ones. We hope to learn more about this fascinating type of experience by reading about your stories and by conducting interviews with people who have frequently experienced anomalous mind over matter effects. It does not matter whether you think your experience is genuinely “paranormal” or has a normal explanation – as we are looking to further understand situations where this experience seems to occur. If you have had an experience like this, please email Dr. Christine Simmonds-Moore on simmonc@hope.ac.uk. This research project is a collaborative endeavour with Dr. Sally Rhine Feather of the Rhine Research Center in USA.
